Taking Action

Brittany E.G.

Hello NHS and StuCo Members,

Since the beginning of the year I have been working on a project that is very special to me. I became a member of Project PeacePal and went on to form a youth segment of it called Project PeacePal Youth. During that time I formed a collaboration with another non-profit organization called Sanyork Fair Trade Inc. It's a free trade organization that helps people in Peru overcome poverty through art. Months of planning, phone conferences, and going over designs led to beautiful customized bracelets. They are now being sold for malaria relief.

Unfortunately, I have an environmental illness and cannot sell them in person. We haven't gotten a website up yet due to technical difficulties so I thought I wasn't going to be able to sell the bracelets I worked so hard to create. We partnered with an organization called Against Malaria recently though, where 100% of the proceeds go to insecticide treated nets for malaria relief. The link to my part of this is: http://www.AgainstMalaria.com/DreamBig. If you go that website and donate six dollars, that will cover both the cost of the net and the distribution of it. It will also pay for a bracelet. Then, you can send an email to the email in the description of the page, and Mayra, a girl that is working with me, will send you a bracelet. In the email you should include your address. I am extremely excited to be able to do this, and I would really appreciate the support. It's amazing to know that I am helping save lives.

Sincerely,
Brittany E.G.
