Earth Treaty

Aminah A.

Dear Mother Earth,

I sit on the shore with the sand in between my toes. I close my eyes as the wind blows through my hair and the sound of the water soothes my body. I breathe in the smell of the salty ocean. The sun is setting over the ocean and I feel as of there is not better place in the world. I then open my eyes and look around me. Trash is scattered everywhere. It is too dirty to run my toes through so I sit of a hard rock trying to keep clean. As the water rolls in so do the beer bottles and cans. I can barely see the sun setting because the sky is too foggy. This has to change. Mother Earth I promise to take care of you. I will clean your beautifulsandy shores and try to get others to do the same. I will talk to the community and try to enforce the rules. I promise to run my toes trough your sandy shores again.

Love,
Aminah
